About Staying Young

Who among us doesn’t want to live a long life? To Patty and me it isn’t just about living long, it’s about staying young as we age. What good does it do to live a long life if we can not enjoy ourselves? We all know people that work their jobs raise a family and save for retirement but when the time came to finally retire their health wouldn’t allow them to enjoy it. They failed to take care of their most prized asset, their own body, and now they spend time in their doctors office instead of traveling, playing golf, boating well I think you get my meaning. Sure they will live a long life, as long as they can afford the doctors and their expensive drugs. That is not what we want to happen to us or anyone for that matter.

Staying Young  As We Get Older

Now that we know what we don’t want to happen, how do we go about preventing it from happening? So we started looking for answers to why our body’s age and how we can slow the inevitable. After all our goal is staying young not just living long. What we were able to find out was that America is all about treatment and replacement not about preventing illness and maintaining vitality and good state of health, so we looked into the Eastern way of medicine and think we found the answer to staying young as we age.

Staying Young The Eastern Way

Eastern doctors have long viewed disease as a system of life being out of balance. Therefore, the medicine they practice seeks to enhance and optimize health through diet, lifestyle, and emotional well-being. With this approach it will empower each individual in his or her pursuit of staying young, health and wellness. The Eastern paradigm uses a variety of natural therapies such as acupuncture, herbal therapy, bodywork, tai chi, yoga, and meditation to treat the mind.

We started incorporating this way of living into our lives about two years ago and it really hasn’t been that hard. Eating right was a bit difficult at first, but after we started noticing how much better we were feeling and looking it was well worth it. We really enjoy doing tai chi, Patty is more into yoga than me, I just don’t bend that well. Found a few supplements that has increased our energy levels and our sex life is like it was in our twenties… I started taking blood pressure medicine at about thirty, not any more, was able to stop taking them about six months ago. I know that we are getting older but we are looking and feeling younger.

We thought we would start this blog to share some of our discoveries that have improved our lives, and learn from others that have something to share. We are now at the end of our forties and feeling better than at any other time in our lives staying young does seem possible even as we are getting older. Please leave a comment we would love to hear your thoughts.

Thank You;
